Biography

Sabine WEILAND est Maître de conférences en sciences politiques à l’Université Catholique de Lille, rattaché à ESPOL. Elle est la directrice du Master spécialisation « food policy ».

Titulaire d’un doctorat en Sciences social de l’université de Göttingen en Allemagne, Sabine a travaillé sur nombreux projets de recherche nationaux, européens et internationaux dans le domaine de la gouvernance environnementale, l’évaluation des politiques et l’interface science-politique. Avant d’arriver à l’Université Catholique de Lille, elle a travaillé au Centre de recherche environnementale de Helmholtz – UFZ, à Leipzig, à l’Université libre de Berlin, l’Université Catholique de Louvain, et a l’IDDRI/Sciences Po Paris. Ses recherches portent sur les politiques environnementales et de développement durable, les politiques des ressources alimentaires, ainsi que la gouvernance réflexive et le « policy learning ». Sabine est le porte-parole de la section « Environmental Politics/Global Change » de l’Association Allemande de Science Politique.

Sabine Weiland is associate professor of political science at Lille Catholic University, affiliated with the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL). She is the director of the MA food policy programme.

Sabine holds a PhD in social sciences from the University of Göttingen, Germany. She participated in various German, European and international research projects in the field of environmental governance, policy assessment, and science-policy interface. Before her appointment at the Catholic University of Lille she was working at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ, Leipzig, Freie Universität Berlin, Catholic University Louvain, and IDDRI/Sciences-Po Paris. Sabine’s research focuses on environmental and sustainability governance; food policy; the role of knowledge in policymaking; reflexive governance and policy learning. She is the spokesperson of the Working group ‘Environmental Politics/Global Change’ of the German Association of Political Science (Deutsche Vereinigung für Politische Wissenschaft, DVPW).
