{"id":1543,"date":"2018-02-08T14:39:57","date_gmt":"2018-02-08T13:39:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/espol-lille.eu\/?p=1543"},"modified":"2023-05-03T16:27:11","modified_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:27:11","slug":"nos-etudiants-a-cour-de-justice-de-lue-retour-image","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/espol-lille.eu\/en\/nos-etudiants-a-cour-de-justice-de-lue-retour-image\/","title":{"rendered":"Throw back : Our students went to the European court of Justice in Luxembourg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday 12th December, Third year bachelor students went to the European court of Justice in Luxembourg within the frame of their class \u201cEU Fundamental Rights and Freedom\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On that day, students had the opportunity to attend a hearing about a conflict between a German telecommunication company and the European Commission.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Their professor, Juan Jauregui Olaguibel, who is a legal secretary at the Court, has presented the Ins and Outs of this hearing beforehand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting of the Cypriot Judge Constantinos Lycourgos, who is sitting at the court since 2014, also marked this day. Students had the chance to have a talk with him and ask various questions during the lunch break. Questions were about not only his profession but also the hearing he had in the morning. He was indeed dealing with a very sensitive case opposing Poland to the European Commission.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon, a guided tour of the building has been given (including the library, which is the biggest law library in Europe) ; This visit ended with the biggest hearing room of Court, which hosted the morning\u2019s hearing.<\/p>\n<p>This study trip was the occasion for ESPOL students to get to know how such an institution is working every day.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that most of them came back from Luxembourg with the dream of a European career!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tom Royer
