Biography

Pierre-Yves Néron, born in Chicoutimi in Canada, is assistant professor of political philosophy. Previously, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Ethics and the Department of philosophy at the University of Toronto, working with Prof. Joseph Heath. He is studying recent developments in egalitarian thought by attempting to develop a specific understanding of it, linked with the idea of “economic democracy”. A specialist of contemporary political philosophy, his current research focuses on recent developments in egalitarian thought, contemporary studies of inequalities and the very idea of economic democracy. More broadly, he is interested in political ideas, democratic practices, institutional design and the philosophy of public policies.
