Research Project PEOPLE2022 – Pratiques Électorales et OPinions Lors des Élections de 2022 (Electoral Practices and Opinions in the 2022 Elections)

The PEOPLE 2022 research project (“Pratiques Electorales et OPinions Lors des Élections 2022″/ “Electoral Practices and Opinions in the 2022 Elections”), which succeeds the PELICAN 2020 project, is a project funded by the “Ambroise” fund and school of political science, ESPOL, of the Catholic University of Lille, and by the CERAPS and LEM research labs of the University of Lille.

In a context of (post) health crisis era, the project explores the participation of French citizens in the electoral campaigns and the elections, as well as the influence of web and paper-based media on their electoral behaviour.

The project includes a quantitative analysis of web media content, a post-election survey and an exit poll. Students from the two universities were involved in the project and participated in various phases of the project’s data collection (for details see below). The project team frequently work together with the regional press both before and after the elections studied by PEOPLE 2022.

Newspaper article in La Voix du Nord on the “exit poll”: « L’élection présidentielle à Roubaix observée par des universitaires » (24 April 2022).
