[CONFERENCE] « US presidential elections – American and European perspectives », Matthew Kerbel & Frank Pryor, Villanova University, USA, François Vergniolle de Chantal, Université de Paris

The ESPOL webinar examines the US presidential election and its implications. In the context of a global pandemic, which hit the USA in particular, a stark polarisation of US society, and disputes about the legitimacy of the US elections, among others, the election is emerging as a stress test for American democracy. Our three distinguished speakers – from the US and from France – will analyse the election results and their determining factors, and the implications for US politics and democracy.

Matthew KERBEL is Professor of Political Science at the Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA.

Frank PRYOR is Assistant Teaching Professor of Political Science at the Villanova University, Pennsylvania, USA.

François VERGNIOLLE DE CHANTAL is Professor of American Politics and Government at the Université de Paris, France.
